The high/low adjuster screw holes on a SRAM derailleur just somehow looked like eyes to me. The whole derailleur looked like it had been ripped off the bike and gone round in the rear wheel a couple of times, so it wasn't difficult to disassemble. His ears are Formula disk brake pads. His feet are the expanders used in quill stems.
